Who we are.

Farol Property is a small advisory practice in Lisbon for people who own, or want to own, property in Portugal without living here full time.

Soft daylight through white arched openings

Our objective

To make Portuguese property understandable for people who don't live here, and to be the person they can call when it matters.

Plain answers

No jargon and no sales pressure. If the honest answer is “wait” or “not this one”, we say so.

Real numbers

Prices from actual sales nearby, taxes worked out for your case, renovation costs from a real quote.

One person, start to finish

The same person from your first message to the deed, and after it, when the paperwork is done and the questions are not.

Open about how we are paid

Brokerage fees are agreed in writing before any work starts, and any link with a partner we recommend is disclosed.

The Santa Marta lighthouse in Cascais

Why Farol.

Farol is Portuguese for lighthouse. The coast is lined with them, from the Minho to Cabo de São Vicente.

A lighthouse does not take the helm. It helps the people who do to see clearly. That is how we see our role: you decide, and we make sure you can see the whole picture first.

Behind Farol.

Farol was founded in 2026 by Fábio, a licensed real estate consultant based in Lisbon.

He works with a small network of trusted partners in renovation, law and tax. So every property is looked at twice: as a home to sell or buy, and as a building that may need work, with a cost you can plan for.

How we work.

  1. Listen

A call about your situation, your timing and what you want to keep. No cost, no commitment.

  2. Value

A realistic price from recent sales nearby, and what you would keep after tax and costs.

  3. Prepare

Documents, energy certificate, small fixes and photos, handled while you are abroad.

  4. Close

Negotiation, promissory contract and deed, in person or by power of attorney.

  5. After

Tax deadlines, utilities, keys, and a renovation plan if you bought.

Licensed brokerage

Sales and purchases are handled through a licensed real estate agency, AMI licence no. [to add].

Independent specialists

For tax and legal questions we work alongside independent lawyers and accountants. We do not give tax or legal advice ourselves.
